Configuring the Internet Information Services (IIS) -
Importing the server certificate to the server home page

To import a server certificate into the Internet Information Services (IIS), use the Internet Information Services Manager.

To open the Internet Information Services Manager, open the Start menu, click Run, and enter

inetmgr.exe

in the input field.

Select the home page of your server under Connections and open the feature Server Certificates.

conf_ImportCert_IIS_RunINETMGR_Homepage_OpenFeature_ServerCertificates_ImportPFX

Select Import... from the Actions and import the server certificate that was issued for your server.

The ∗.PFX and ∗.P12 formats are both supported.

If your certificate has a suffix that is not PFX, set the filter to ∗.∗The file will then be displayed in File Explorer.

The certificate is password-protected, due to the private key it contains. You get the password from your certification authority.

The certificate has now been imported.
