User Management - Getting Started¶
Think¶
Before you begin to create users, ask yourself the following questions:
- Which employees will work with the X1 Server?
- Will the preconfigured user servicetracer suffice as system administrator or do you require more than one system administrator?
- What roles are there in your company?
- Are all employees to receive the same authorizations or are the activities of the individual employees very specialized?
- Have you the required data - login name, e-mail address, time zone of the workplace, standard password - for all employees to hand? Is a photo or logo of the employee to be displayed?
- Do you want to use a Microsoft Active Directory to maintain the user data? If so, have you already configured the connection in the module Administration > Active Directory?
- In which cases would you delete or deactivate a user?
- Which users are to be authorized to use the X1 Design Studio?
- Do you need users to be able to access the X1 Server via the External REST API?
Configure¶
If you want to use an Active Directory, you can configure it now.
Then create all roles that you require in addition to the preconfigured roles.
Create¶
Create users by clicking on the button Create and entering all the required data.
License¶
Finally, you can assign a license for the X1 Design Studio to the users you have just created. If necessary, you can also create API keys for individual users.
Administrate¶
You can make changes to the user data at any time and you can delete or deactivate users that are no longer required.
