Process Automation - Overview -
Two ways to Create a Process¶
There are two different ways to create a Process. Either via Process Evaluation or via Process Management.
Process creation via Process Evaluation¶
When you create a Process using the Process Evaluation, it is not yet known whether the Process can be or is to be automated.
The Process now consists of a name, an evaluation and a status (Created).
If the Process is approved for automation (status Approved), it is also assigned to an owner, who can view the Process in his Backlog.
The result of the evaluation can be seen here in the table Process Backlog and in the chart Process Prioritization, but can no longer be changed.
If the Project Owner decides not to automate the Process, he can reject it. It then appears again in the Process List of the Process Evaluation and can be deleted there or processed again.
Once automation of the Process has started, the Process assumes the status Design and from now on, it can be seen by the Project Owner and his project team in the Process Management view. All further Status and Owner changes are shared with the Process Evaluation and Process Backlog views, but this does not include any changes to the name of the Process.
Two Names, One Process
As soon as a Process is in Process Management, you can change its name as you wish. However, any such name change is no longer reported in the Process Backlog or the Process Evaluation, which means that the same Process can have different names in different views.
From this point onward, the result of the evaluation of a Process can only be seen by a user with the Privilege Process Evaluation View, provided this user knows the original name of the Process.
Process creation via Process Management¶
If you do not require an evaluation for the automation of your processes, you can also create a Process directly in the Process Management view.
The Process has the status Design as soon as it is created.
For processes that are created directly via Process Management, you cannot subsequently create a Process Evaluation.
