Process Automation - Getting Started -
Prerequisites¶
In order to use the Process Application, you must first install and configure some other applications of the X1 server.
Configurations in the [System] Context¶
Administration¶
In the [System] context, you first set up all the required customers in the Administration module, and assign licenses to them.
User Management¶
If you already know which privileges your employees will have, you can set up roles containing these privileges in the User Management module.
Project Owner
The Project Owner role, which enables you to operate all parts of Process Automation, and other roles which fulfill specific tasks are already preconfigured.
Configurations in the customer context¶
User Management¶
In the Customer context, first set up all users in User Management who are to work with Process Automation.
Roles, tasks and responsibilities
Consider in advance which roles exist in your company and which tasks and how much responsibility each employee is to assume.
The Project Owner has an overview of a Process at all times and can also edit the Process.
You can also set up employees who are subsequently to assume only specific parts of the automation of a Process.
X1 Design Studio licenses
With module-based licensing, a user requires a license to open the X1 Design Studio. To view a Process there in the Process Repository, the user must be either the owner or a project team member of this Process.
Robot Management¶
In Robot Management, create the API keys that you require for installation of the Robots. The Robot then uses the API key to legitimize itself to the server.
Other applications to be installed¶
In addition to the applications contained in the server set-up, you require at least one X1 Design Studio and at least one X1 Bot.
