Process Automation - Getting Started -
First steps beginning with Process Evaluation

Think

Before you start the automation of the processes in your company, think about the following questions:

  • For which departments (Customer) could Process automation be useful?
  • Who is responsible for automation in these departments (Project Owner)? Who supports them (Team Member)?
  • What is a Process? What is the ideal size of a Process with regard to implementation and result? And what processes exist in your company?
  • How can the processes be named so that they can easily be identified and found?
  • Which prerequisites must be fulfilled in order for the processes to be carried out?

Configure

If there are applications that are required for implementation of a Process, you can list them in the Process Applications module. This information is required so that the Process can be carried out subsequently only by robots which are authorized to carry out the relevant applications.

Evaluate

Fill out a Process Evaluation for each Process. Then you can see at a glance in the Process List the sequence in which the processes should ideally be automated.

Model

First create a model of the Process with BPMN.

Then open the Process in the X1 Design Studio and fill the individual elements with specific instructions for the robot. You can find a detailed guide in the Servicetrace® X1 Design Studio Manual.

Launch

If the tests are successful, you can transfer the automated processes to the productive system.

From this point, the robot will work independently.

Monitor

With Alerting and Dashboard, you have an overview of all productive processes at all times.
