Administration - Getting Started¶
Think¶
Before you begin administration of the X1 Server, ask yourself the following questions:
- How much space is available for the database? When can you delete data that is no longer required?
- At what time each day can the system be devoted exclusively to database maintenance for at least two hours?
- Do you have the data that is required to set up the SMTP server for automatic sending of e-mails?
- Which user groups (Customers) are to work with the X1 Server?
- Have you the data that is required for set-up of the Customers (name, contact details, time zone) to hand?
- Do you have the required license packages at hand?
Configure¶
First, select Server Settings and configure the database tasks, the file system tasks, and the SMTP server.
Create¶
Create Customers by clicking on the button Create and entering all the required data.
You require at least one Customer in addition to the delivered Customer [System] in order to use all applications of the X1 Server.
License¶
Types of license model
There are two types of license model: Module-based licensing and Time-based licensing. Depending on which type you are using, the Licensing view and some other views of the X1 Server appear differently.
Finally, you can assign licenses for various elements of the Servicetrace® XceleratorOne solution to the Customers you have just created.
Module-based licensing
With Module-based licensing, a Customer requires at least one license per type of X1 Server, Robot and X1 Design Studio in order to be able to use the X1 Server.
Time-Based Licensing
With Time-Based Licensing, and full access to all modules, you have a certain number of minutes available for implementation of the processes. You can distribute this time across all Customers as you wish.
Administer¶
You can adjust the system data at any time.
