Could our self-building bot be a uniquely differentiating feature?

As a German medium-sized company it fills us with pride to appear, for the third time in a row, in the 2021 Magic Quadrant for Robotic Process Automation (RPA), recently published by Gartner. For the second time in a row, Servicetrace has been recognized as a Visionary Vendor. We believe, the XceleratorOne® (X1) process automation platform impresses with a comprehensive enterprise approach and offers features rarely seen in competitive comparisons. Not only do we strive to always be at the forefront of innovation, but customers also praise our value for money and we do know that our self-building bots are outstanding.

In the current quadrant, Servicetrace significantly improved its position on the “Completeness of Vision” axis and additionally moved up on the “Ability to Execute” axis. The company’s innovative strength, value for money and self-building bots  are particularly highlighted.

Self-building Bots

Process automation with XceleratorOne® consists of a 2-tiered approach at its core:

1) an integrated BPM engine for the creation of the business logic

2) an execution engine for the bot actions to be executed.

In X1, BPMNs can be modelled graphically or existing BPMN files can be imported. For each BPMN element, a graphical bot workflow is created in the Design Studio that contains the individual user actions to be executed by the bot. With the low-code approach, even Citizen Developers can “build bots” with simple drag-and-drop actions.

Automation design in X1: In the upper area, the BPMN diagram depicting the process flow; in the lower area, the workflows with the concrete instructions for the RPA bots.

The Servicetrace Process Recorder automates this process by directly recording real user actions such as mouse clicks or inputs and automatically generating a BPMN diagram with the appropriate bot workflows from this recording.

These are not an unchanging, closed execution path (as is usual with other recording methods), but can be adapted as a graphical workflow from individual, editable transactions in the Design Studio as required.

Several recordings of the same process can be merged to add further decision branches and alternative execution paths to the initial “happy path”.

In addition, the recordings generate XES files that provide extensive data for connected process mining tools.

The automated creation of BPMN and automation workflows with the Process Recorder simplifies and accelerates the automation of even long and complex business processes.

Gartner declares the “self-building bot” to be the “uniquely differentiating” feature in the vendor comparison.

Gartner analysts predict, ” By 2023, almost all major RPA vendors will offer a broader process automation and integration platform combining screen scraping (Editor’s note: reading of data on the screen, see also Intelligent Recognition of Servicetrace). with APIs.” They also expect more intelligent control of automation through, for example, a voice-driven mobile app. The current report defines the RPA- market as:

“… the market for licensed software platforms used for building scripts to integrate any application via a user interface and a control dashboard or orchestrator. RPA platforms automate repetitive, rule-based, predictable tasks.”

Additionally, Gartner specifies the following must-have criteria for market-ready RPA solutions:

  • Enable citizen developers to build automation scripts
  • Ability to integrate with other enterprise solutions
  • Holistic orchestration and control of RPA aspects, including configuration, monitoring and security

We are of the view that Servicetrace XceleratorOne® already meets all these conditions. Furthermore, Servicetrace already integrates features such as process mining & discovery, intelligent document processing, ML, “headless bots” or a low-code UI for bot programming. In addition, APIs can be created over the User Interface without the need of having programming skills. These are all innovative product features that only a few vendors have been able to present so far.

The roadmap for Servicetrace for the next release sets the milestones for further development: Among other things, Servicetrace plans to containerize the platform and integrate the “Decision Model and Notation” (DMN) standard for simplified cross-departmental communication and collaboration.

We believe our positioning supports that Servicetrace has taken and continues to pursue a forward-looking path with its holistic “Enterprise Process Automation” approach. Servicetrace’s product vision is a comprehensive, enterprise-ready RPA solution that is easy to use, centrally controllable, and highly scalable, making it easy to achieve successful, secure end-to-end automation of even complex processes across the enterprise. Moreover, our impressive set of solutions offer:

1) Patented technology that recognizes patterns, images and text like the human eye (AI / OCR)

2) outstanding process recorderincluding self-building bots

3) the embedded BPM engine (Camunda) for the integration of the business logic

4) integrated test automation of bots and workflows

5) the patented vertical scaling technology which allows for parallel bot sessions on one end device

6) integrated standardized and individual process evaluation criteria and adjustable RoI analytics

7) companywide collaboration supported by an agile Kanban board

We believe  that XceleratorOne® is well-suited for secure end-to-end automation and that you will find innovation to be at the “heart” of our RPA platform.
